The PB kitchen is a lively and buzzing place with our head chef Robert Thompson around. Music plays, jokes are cracked and creative juices flow. ‘Oohs’ and ‘aahs’ of delight are heard as each innovative masterpiece leaves the unit. His contagious enthusiasm for everything he does motivates the whole team and everyone he comes into contact with. Rob has a vast amount of experience, comfortably running events for over a thousand people at a time, so whether your sit-down dinners, food stations, buffets or canapé functions are for 50, 100 or 1,000 people, every single dish will be a work of art. Danelle van Tonder is an extremely experienced Events manager and co ordinator, with diplomas in event and wedding planning, and hospitality management. She has worked with the likes of deloitte, JP Morgan, BMW and much more, providing gala dinners, conferences, political events, award ceremonies, seamlessly managing events for up to 2000 people. She truly understands how important it is to create the most amazing day of your life and will work closely with you to make it all come true. Extremely creative, her fun and stunning suggestions will make your day totally unique, whilst never forgetting the attention to every tiny detail. Furthermore, her bubbly personality and contagious enthusiasm will have you so excited about your big day and you’ll be chatting over it for hours. Chelsea Hockley was thrown in the deep end in events at the tender age of 15 and she definitely swam. With a degree in arts and event management, she brings to the team a lot of experience, incredible multi-tasking skills, heaps of creativity and a meticulous organising system. Her skills continue with a vast knowledge of sales, marketing and social media, which means those delicious pictures you see on our social media are all her. Among hosting the sponsors boxes at the London 2012 Olympics and in her spare time organising large festivals, Chelsea has spent the last two years co-ordinating and managing events at breathtaking beachside venues in Bournemouth, organising large-scale corporate events from LV to Mercedes. Working closely with clients from inception to completion, she understands vision and can make it happen. Vicky is the newest member to join PB, but her enthusiastic, can-do attitude and confidence has made everyone feel like she’s been part of the team for ages. She’s a real people person, listening to requests, noticing the attention to detail and making our clients instantly feel that they are in great hands and that their event will run like clockwork. She has a vast amount of experience, previously working for event hire companies and high-end waitressing companies, as well as helping to organise small music events in her spare time, so understands exactly what is needed. She has a real passion for food and baking, so loves nothing better than chatting over your food requests and working with the chef to create menus totally bespoke for you, as well as designing innovative, creative proposals that suit your style and colour scheme. PenniBlack are proud to have Lawrence Gnoyke as the events operations manager. He has worked as both a chef and manager for many years in top end hotels, such as the Savoy, the Dorchester and the London Hilton. He was the senior banqueting operations manager at one of the largest banqueting venues in London, accommodating up to 1200 in one sitting. Managed the International Olympic committees catering requirements during the 2012 London Olympics. A personal alcohol licence holder and a first aider. With all this under his belt, you know your event will run completely seamlessly, from start to finish.
Welcome back Monika Drozak, who has been part of the team PB since 2005, and had a year off to have her gorgeous baby boy Oliver. Monika is brilliant both back and front of house, as a chef or event manager. She makes everything she touches look beautiful, whether it’s the food and presentation, or the venue itself. Monika always has a solution to any problems, and makes everyone smile with her contagious enthusiasm and bubbly personality.
